WhatsApp automation pricing:
software plans and Meta's fees compared.

A WhatsApp tool has two bills: the monthly software plan and Meta's per-message fees. Meta's part is the same everywhere, so the plan price, seats and included features decide the difference. This page lists both with sources and dates.

What WhatsApp really costs: software plus Meta's fees

Every WhatsApp platform has two bills: the software plan, and Meta's message fees. Meta's fees are the same whichever platform you use, so the software plan is where tools differ. Example for one shop in a month: 2,000 promotion messages, 1,500 order updates and 4,000 replies to customers.

Example monthly Meta fees in India (approximate)
Message typeCountApproximate rateMeta fee
Promotions (marketing)2,000₹0.8631 each₹1,726
Order and account updates (utility)1,500₹0.115 each₹173
Replies inside the 24-hour window (service)4,000 (first 1,000 free)₹0.115 each₹345
Total Meta fees₹2,244

These are approximate India rates in rupees before 18% GST (the same ones shown inside ReplyKaro's WhatsApp plan screen). Meta sets and changes them; check Meta's own price list. You pay Meta on your own card. Starter on ReplyKaro adds ₹599 for the software.

How Meta charges for WhatsApp messages

This is Meta's own model, the same on every platform. It decides most of your WhatsApp bill.

  • Per delivered message. Meta charges only for messages from a business to a person, and only when they are delivered. Messages from customers to you are free.
  • By category and by the customer's country. A message has one category: marketing, utility or authentication (all sent as templates), or service (a free-form reply inside the 24-hour window, whether written by a person or by a third-party AI). Meta prices it by the customer's country calling code.
  • The first 1,000 service messages each month are free for every business phone number. The count resets monthly and does not roll over. From the 1,001st, Meta charges the service rate.
  • Utility messages are charged even inside the 24-hour window. Since 1 October 2026 only service messages get the free monthly tier.
  • Click-to-WhatsApp ads: when someone messages you from an ad and you reply within the 24-hour window, that reply is free and opens a free window of up to 7 days in which marketing, utility, authentication and service messages are not charged.
  • Volume discounts exist only for utility and authentication messages, by market and month. Marketing messages have no volume tiers.
  • Prices change only on 1 January, 1 April, 1 July or 1 October, with at least one month's notice for a rate change.
  • You need a payment method on your Meta account. Without one, Meta delivers service messages only up to the free tier.
  • Meta also sells its own AI agent (Meta Business Agent) at a per-token price of about 4 to 5 US cents per message. ReplyKaro's AI replies do not use it; they are service messages.

Meta's WhatsApp fees outside India (approximate, per message)

Meta prices each message by the country calling code of the person you message, not by where your business is. A promotion to a customer in Germany costs far more than one to a customer in India, so a business that messages customers abroad should price each market separately.

Meta's rate card has 47 markets. 39 are named countries with their own rate, including India, Indonesia, Brazil, Mexico, Germany, France, Italy, Spain, the United Kingdom, the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Nigeria, Turkey and Singapore. The other 8 are regions that share one rate: North America (the United States and Canada), Rest of Africa, Rest of Asia Pacific (for example Australia, Japan, the Philippines, Thailand and Vietnam), Rest of Central and Eastern Europe, Rest of Western Europe (for example Ireland, Portugal, Sweden and Switzerland), Rest of Latin America, Rest of Middle East and Other.

You choose the billing currency when you create the Meta account. Meta supports 16: USD, INR, EUR, GBP, AED, SAR, SGD, IDR, MYR, AUD, BRL, MXN, ARS, CLP, COP and PEN. Meta publishes the exact list rates for each currency as downloadable rate cards.

Approximate Meta fees by market
MarketPromotion (marketing)Utility, authentication and service
India₹0.8631₹0.115
Brazil$0.0625$0.0068
Mexico$0.0397$0.0085
Germany$0.1365$0.055
United States and CanadaAbout $0.025About $0.004

These rates are approximate figures from published pricing guides for 2026 and may differ slightly from Meta's current rate card. For the exact rate in any market, including the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Indonesia and the UK, use the list rates in Meta's downloadable rate cards for your currency. India is shown before 18% GST. Customer messages to you are always free, and the first 1,000 replies a month per number inside the 24-hour window are free.

Plan fee for a five-person team on one number

Pro on ReplyKaro lists ₹1,299 ($19) a month with 5 seats and API keys. WATI's Pro plan, as listed on its pricing page when we checked on 12 October 2026, is ₹6,499 a month on monthly billing with 5 users included. That is a difference in plan fee of about 5 times. The plans are not identical (WATI lists 5,000 Wati AI credits and its own chatbot tooling; ReplyKaro includes 1,000 AI replies and one inbox for Instagram, Messenger and WhatsApp), so compare the features you need, not only the price.

Plan fees only, before tax and before Meta's message fees, which are the same on both. WATI's figure is quoted from its public pricing page (wati.io/pricing), last checked 12 October 2026.

How to compare WhatsApp tool prices

  • Add the software plan and Meta's fees. A low plan price can still be expensive if you send many promotions.
  • Count seats. Some plans charge per extra user; check how many teammates are included.
  • Check what is an add-on: chatbot flows, AI agents and extra numbers are sometimes priced separately.
  • Check the currency and tax. Some prices exclude GST.
  • Check the free plan. Compare numbers, flows, broadcasts and message limits, not only the headline.

Frequently asked questions

Which WhatsApp automation tool costs the least?

It depends on seats, volume and features, and no list can promise one winner. ReplyKaro has a free plan and paid plans from ₹599 a month in India or $9 a month elsewhere. AiSensy and WATI list their own free trials or plans; compare them in the table above and add Meta's fees to every option.

What does Meta charge for WhatsApp messages?

Meta charges per message by type and by the recipient's country. In India the approximate rates are ₹0.8631 for a promotion and ₹0.115 for an order or account update, a login code, or a reply after the first 1,000 free replies a month per number, before 18% GST. Customer messages to you are free. Check Meta's own price list for current rates.

Do ReplyKaro's AI replies cost extra at Meta?

Meta treats a reply written by a person or by a third-party AI as a service message. The first 1,000 service messages each month per number are free, and Meta charges the service rate after that. ReplyKaro's own AI reply allowance (100 a month on Starter, 1,000 on Pro) is part of the plan, not a Meta charge.

How often does Meta change WhatsApp prices?

Meta may change prices only on 1 January, 1 April, 1 July or 1 October, with at least one month's notice for a rate change. The current card took effect on 1 October 2026.

Is WhatsApp more expensive for customers outside India?

Often, yes. Meta prices by the recipient's country: for example a promotion is about $0.0625 in Brazil, about $0.025 in the US and about $0.1365 in Germany, against about ₹0.86 (roughly one US cent) in India. These figures are approximate; see the table above and Meta's rate card.

Does ReplyKaro add a markup on Meta's message fees?

No. There is no extra per-message fee from ReplyKaro. You pay only what Meta charges, on your own card, and ReplyKaro charges for the software plan only.

Is ReplyKaro cheaper than WATI?

On plan fees alone, ReplyKaro Pro (₹1,299, 5 seats) lists about 5 times less than WATI's Pro (₹6,499, 5 users) as of 12 October 2026. Features differ, and both pay Meta's fees on top, so compare what you need.

How fast does ReplyKaro support reply?

We reply within 24 hours on Free, 18 hours on Starter and 12 hours on Pro and above. Write to hello@replykaro.com.
