The three things an Indian business pays
| What | Who charges it | How it works |
|---|---|---|
| Software plan | ReplyKaro | A flat monthly plan in rupees: ₹599, ₹1,299, ₹2,499 or ₹4,999. No per-contact billing and no per-message fee. |
| Message fees | Meta, on your own payment method | Per delivered message, by category. About ₹0.8631 for a promotion and ₹0.115 for an update, a login code or a reply after the first 1,000 free replies a month per number. Customer messages to you are free. |
| GST | Added where it applies | GST is added to the plan and to Meta's fees where it applies. Add your GSTIN and business details in ReplyKaro billing so they appear on your invoices. |
Meta's rates change only on 1 January, 1 April, 1 July or 1 October. Rupee figures are approximate and before GST; check Meta's rate card for the exact rate.
Three real monthly bills for Indian businesses
These use the rates above. Each business pays Meta for what it sends and ReplyKaro for the plan. GST is extra on both.
| Business | What it sends in a month | Meta fees | ReplyKaro plan | Total |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Online clothing store | 3,000 promotions, 2,000 order updates, 5,000 replies | ₹3,279 | ₹599 (Starter) | ₹3,878 |
| Coaching business | 500 promotions, 300 order updates, 1,500 replies | ₹524 | ₹599 (Starter) | ₹1,123 |
| Neighbourhood restaurant | 200 promotions, 1,000 order updates, 3,000 replies | ₹518 | ₹599 (Starter) | ₹1,117 |
Examples, not quotes. Your numbers depend on how many promotions you send. Promotions are the expensive part: each costs about 7 times an update or a reply.
Meta bills Indian businesses in rupees
Meta introduced billing in Indian rupees for the WhatsApp Business Platform on 1 January 2026. Meta's pricing page says eligible Indian customers must move all their WhatsApp accounts to rupee billing by 31 December 2026, and that Meta lists exact rupee rates, with volume tiers for utility and authentication messages, in its rate cards.
Meta supports 16 billing currencies in all. If most of your customers are in India, rupees avoid currency conversion on your card.
