Safety guide

Auto DM on Instagram
without getting banned.

Most account restrictions come from the same few behaviours: bots that log in with your password, messaging strangers, and sending too much, too fast. These rules avoid all three.

Eight rules that keep your account safe

1. Use the official API

Choose a tool that connects with an Instagram login and Meta's official messaging API. Avoid anything that asks for your Instagram password.

2. Message only people who interacted

Reply to commenters, Story repliers and people who messaged you. Never cold-message strangers.

3. Respect the messaging window

Instagram lets you reply within a limited window after someone's last message. Plan follow-ups to fit inside it.

4. Keep a steady pace

Sudden bursts look like spam. A good tool queues messages and sends them at a safe rate, as ReplyKaro does with its hourly limits.

5. Vary your wording

Identical messages sent hundreds of times are easy to flag. Use a short greeting and personalise it with the person's name.

6. Do not automate likes, follows or comments on other accounts

Auto-liking, auto-following and auto-commenting on other people's posts break Instagram's rules. Replying to comments on your own posts is different.

7. Be honest in your message

Say what the link is. Do not trick people into clicking, and disclose affiliate links.

8. Watch for warning signs

Messages not delivering, action blocks or a sudden drop in reach are signals to slow down and check your settings.

Warning signs to act on

  • Many messages fail to deliver in a short time.
  • Instagram shows an action-blocked notice.
  • You are asked to confirm your identity repeatedly.
  • Your access token expires or is rejected, so automations stop.

If you see these, pause new campaigns and review what changed. In ReplyKaro, the Account Health page shows delivery success, queue backlog and token status in one place.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Is Instagram auto DM safe?

Using the official API and messaging only people who interacted with you follows Meta's rules and is the safest approach. No tool can promise an account will never be restricted.

Why do some tools get accounts banned?

Usually because they log in with your password, act like a browser bot, message strangers, or send large bursts of identical messages.

Does ReplyKaro ask for my password?

No. You connect with an Instagram login, and ReplyKaro sends messages through Meta's official API.

Is auto-liking and auto-commenting safe?

No. Automating likes, follows or comments on other accounts' content breaks Instagram's rules. Replying to comments on your own posts and sending DMs to people who interacted with you is the supported use.

How can I check my account's health?

ReplyKaro's Account Health page shows a safety score, delivery success and queue status for each connected account.
